Pain Management

One of the massive benefits of ISDN is in the area of pain management. The same procedures which can enhance and improve an athlete's performance and career can be used to manage pain in both acute and chronic cases.

ISDN can:

  • restore physiological homeostasis1 in the body
  • maximise self-healing without adverse or negative side-effects
  • treat both the root and the symptoms of the pain at the same time

ISDN has all of the characteristics required by a clinical procedure in that it is:

  • Simple
The whole procedure, from evaluation to treatment, can be performed in a very short time
  • Reproducible
The procedures and therapeutic results are reliable and reproducible by any practitioner
  • Predictable
ISDN allows the practitioner to predict the results of the treatments as follows:
    • Whether the patient will respond to the treatment or not
    • If the patient is a responder, how many treatments might be required to achieve pain relief
    • Whether the pain might return at some time after initial relief is achieved

Depending on the chronicity of the illness and healing ability of the patient, ISDN can be used very successfully in treating almost all pain disorders of the musculoskeletal system and has also been shown to provide relief in non-pain disorders (e.g. asthma, sinusitis, nausea etc.) as well as systemic pain disorders (e.g. headache, neuralgia etc.)

1 Homeostasis is the state of 'balance' of the body. A body in homeostatic balance will feel good and not be experiencing pain
